    WHAT AN INCREDIBLE SESSION!
Scott Hoffman again shows it how it’s done by improving his fastest time missing out on a 58 second laptime by the skin of his teeth with an incredibly impressive 59.014 in practice. Well done Scott!

But the highlight of the race was the dark-horse Toney Ang who almost snatched first place from Scott Hoffman due to an incident – although Scott did emerge from the pits just in time to clench victory for his impressive drive. Toney certainly proved to the field that consistent driving and no major accidents will get you the points with his fastest time being the outsider of the bunch at 1.02.249. While he did find the grass and some foreign panels a few times including several with Jup Kruger, Toney did manage to recover and make it to the end. Well done Toney – 2nd place and your first podium result!

Paul Hubbert – first-time racer – and on the podium! Paul managed a commendable third place and an impressive time for a new racer of 1.02.207. His lack of incidents proved his poise and control – getting to grips with the MX5 in record time. Paul is certainly showing some promise that he may be someone you’ll be looking over your shoulder to beat when he’s on your tail!

Michael Farrell was showing more signs of improvement with his consistency showing through on the day although later lapses of concentration had him off-track and in the pits a few too many times to recover. Michael did spend less time off-track than the whole field, with an impressive 7 incident points but unfortunately they were gained by some fairly costly off’s resulting in damage requiring pitting to repair. Michael’s 4th place result was out-of-touch with his driving performance which was actually extremely controlled – expect Michael to be a the top of the field and in the podium next race.

Jup Kruger, the most colourful character in the field is certainly fast, setting a best time of 59.620 in practice and qualifying second with a 59.962. The only thing robbing Jup from the win was 33 incident points proving his race was a shocker with plenty of contact with other vehicles and track barriers. Jup has the capacity to win – his driving line and speed is definitely there, so if we see Jup relax and drive some consistent laps we’ll have a serious contest on our hands between himself and Scott Hoffman. Watch out Scott!

Bill Lawley took out the wooden spoon with a great run in a car he’s had zero experience in – in fact Bill doesn’t even have his learners licence! Amazingly he picked up the controls and ran a respectable race with only 15 incident points – much lower than some of the seasoned racers on the day. Well done Bill!
