    ANYTHING RACING!  ANYTHING GOES!
This week’s racing was an experience for the guys from Anything Racing in Capalaba – they had no idea what to expect and neither did we!

As those of you who have spent time at our facility know only too well, running clean laps with minimum off-track excustions as well as avoiding heavy contact wins races – something that Paul Crossley proved again this session taking the win from the faster competitors.   Squeaky clean Paul managed a 1.02.152 in the race but it was his significant lack of incidents (just 3 minor off-track excursions) which catapulted him to a first place podium finish in true RPM Racing style – well done Paul!

Zac Sexton followed in Paul Crossley’s footsteps by avoiding contact and time in the pits.  His fastest laptime of 1.03.001 being enough to trail Paul by just 19.5 seconds at the finish line.  Zac looked fast in several of the corners, and we would expect both Paul and Zac to perform strongly with more practice.  Just like Paul, Zac showed the rest of the Anything Racing competitors that consistency beats speed finishing the race 2nd on the podium – great racing Zac!

The blistering pace of Dean Crossley’s fastest lap was uncontested.  Dean proved he could string the quickest string of corners together in one lap by completing the circuit in a very respectable 1.00.791 in the race – impressive time Dean!  Unfortunately, circulating at that pace did have it’s perils for Dean, with a few costly mistakes severely damaging his MX5.  Time in the pits for repairs hampered Dean’s race to the flag enough that he struggled across the finish line in 3rd place.  With some practice, we would expect to see Dean right up with our leaders times.  Great work Dean!

Unfortunately for Ty Dekker, a massive collision with a barrier that ‘came out of no-where’ saw him out of action while both his car, and his machine was repaired.  Opting for the spare car, Ty did put in some fast times – posting a 1.01.483 in the race – just over half a second shy of Dean’s time – but they weren’t enough to overcome the huge time penalty of car repairs and swapping out vehicles.  Without the off-track shunt we’re sure Ty would have been a serious contender for the win.  With some more Practice we expect Ty to be fast.  Really fast.

Joseph Predl didn’t participate in our race event, but looking over his laptimes they weren’t too shabby at all, showing he managed to push into the 1.02 category with his short period of practice.

NEW STUFF:  iRacing Replay File Download

We are experimenting with offering the iRacing replay file. To keep file sizes lower for download speed, we’ve ZIPPED the file. This session’s replay file can be downloaded here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0BxvRWsrO-jTRa2NGUDdBM1p4WDg/view?usp=sharing
To use the replay file, download and unzip then copy it to DOCUMENTS>IRACING>REPLAYS then go to iRacing in your browser and select RESULTS & STATS > MY REPLAYS – after a few seconds you should be able to see the replay details in a box – click the green play-looking button next to the filename to watch the replay in iRacing.

*NOTE: The file is quite large (~50mb)
